Having 800 Things Going at Once

Hey there and welcome to my blog! I love writing, and I’ve been doing it forever. But I started law school in 2023, which means that as of this post, I’ve just started my fourth semester. And while progressing in law school brings new, exciting opportunities (like interning with the Public Defender’s office and being on the Law Review), it also means that my life feels like it is constantly going at 100 miles per hour, in 100 different directions. But writing is the thing that brings me back to peace and joy, and recommitting to my writing, even while in law school, has helped me reflect back on everything writing has done for me thus far in my 26 years of life.

It helps me remember when I was 11 years old and I received my first, dinosaur-age laptop for Christmas so that I could write more than handwriting in dozens of notebooks would allow. It helps me remember when I was 12 years old and published my first-ever book, Spy TEC: The Terrorists Strike, with characters all named for friends in my sixth-grade class. It helps me remember discovering Wattpad in 2014, and uploading my first online work, Spiral, a fantasy novel about twin princess sisters with magical powers. It helps me remember how I got out of a rut at age 17 by deciding to write a book that incorporated social media. And how that book, Dear Sydney, catapulted me into my first Watty Award, becoming a Wattpad Creator, and interacting with hundreds of thousands of readers around the world. To this day, nine years later, when I see the little “3.2M” number on my screen, it feels surreal.

Through this writing, I discovered that I have a particular love for trilogies—probably because I hate it when stories end. I published the Three’s Company trilogy over the course of four years: Forbidden came out in 2018 when I was 19 years old, Restricted in 2020 when I was 21 and in the midst of COVID, and Lost in 2022 when I was 23 and just getting used to my first post-bachelors degree job. And now, I’m ready to keep going in 2025—Booker Lane, another multimedia novel, is getting regular, weekly updates on Wattpad, Radish Fiction, and Inkitt Books, and I’m hoping to decide on a publication date for Treadmill soon.

So, even though law school and my success therein is incredibly important to me, I’m excited to be able to set aside the time—even if it’s just a few minutes a day—to dive into my favorite thing again. And I hope that you’ll stick around for the ride!
